What to expect from the new album of Julian Casablancas?

Stuart A.
San José, Costa Rica.

After almost 5 years of waiting for a new solo album from Julian, this artist announced there will be a new project called "Julian Casablancas + The Voidz" with a new album coming soon. Here is the short preview.

Vendetta, "The past can't hurt you anymore, not unless you let it"

Yeap, as you know, the same reason we cannot talk about John Lennon, without mentioning The Beatles, we cannot talk about JC without comparing his latest work with the side-projects of the member of The Strokes.

Because, Albert Hammond Jr has had a huge success with his work and if you want to hear new music, his two albums are highly recommended. And, what about the drummer, Fabrizio Moretti, the Brazilian guy, well, he is part of the band Little Joy, something totally different to the roots that made him famous, something refreshing. And the last member with side-projects but not the least, Nikolai Fraiture, who has a great voice and great ideas, has an album with his project named Nickel Eye. And there should an individual article for every musical novelty of the members of The Strokes, because you are automatically prepared for something good.

But the face of The Strokes, Julian Casablancas, had his chance, with his solo album Phrazes For The Young in 2009, with its single, 11th Dimension, and it actually was a failure, 5.5, that was the score received from Pitchfork, there were new sounds in this album, but nothing significant, an album to forget.

But, now it is the time to redeem himself, Why? because he can, he is a great artist, with such a huge talent, because his huge hit working along with Daft Punk, and The Strokes are not The Strokes without Julian Casablancas, and just listen to the preview, powerful sounds, underground sounds from New York, it is possibly that could sound as the essence of The Strokes, but with his personal touch.

He has an advantage, this project is going to be released by his own record store, Cult Records, now he can do, whatever he wants, and that is how an artist develop all his talent, specially when the record store remains its own style, and helps artist like Albert Hammond Jr, Reputante, Rey Pila and the recently split band, The Virgins.

In conclusion, There is a good hunch for this album, so let's wait.

Pura vida, see you later, alligator.
